2016: The Year in Review
At the start of 2016 I wrote a post about how our services would broaden into brand and digital marketing in the year ahead. We have actually gone beyond that…
As well as doing more brand work than ever before, including the creation of the brand identity and logo for Giving Tuesday, we’ve also produced a range of videos for our clients.
The clearest characteristic of our work in 2016 however, is the shift towards experience-driven websites that go way beyond simple online brochures of information to consume. Examples of this change include:
JUICEBURST
We created an interactive exploding fruit game to give users a teaser of what to expect from the full ‘Juice Wars’ game which is accessed by scanning the bottle using the Blippar phone app.
WELLINGTON COLLEGE
The website features an interactive school tour that shows the journey around the campus on a map as you scroll, as well as a custom web application for ‘The Wellington Identity‘ featuring videos we produced.
FIREFLY DRINKS
A feature of the homepage allows users to upload a photo that then appears on a Firefly bottle on the site, and gives them the possibility of appearing on real drinks bottles too.
All our work now features a level of interactivity and animation that adds to the experience for the user, and we are excited to continue this trend in 2017.
WHAT ELSE DOES 2017 HAVE IN STORE FOR THE WEB KITCHEN?
We started 2016 with three new members of the team – Steph, Hilda and Joep have made fantastic contributions to TWK in the areas of project management, development and design respectively. We start 2017 with a new Junior Developer in Joseley Rebelo, and are on the lookout for a new business manager to join the team.
In terms of new client projects, we will be excited to launch a suite of international sites for a Publicis Media agency called Zenith; we’ll be launching the new website for the world’s largest TV and broadband company (Liberty Global); and once again we will be working closely with Candlestar to deliver the digital services surrounding Photo London 2017.
Finally we will strive to continue making a positive social impact through our pro bono work for charities, and our donation to Malaria No More.
We wish you the very best for 2017 in your aims and ambitions!
