SSH – What is SSH Access?

Sometimes also referred to as Secure Socket Shell, SSH, Secure Shell is a protocol and command interface that is UNIX based that helps to gain secure access to remote computers. It is predominantly put to use by network administrators in order to have a control over Web and various other types of servers too in a remote fashion.

SSH Secure Shell exists in two major versions and they are called SSH1 and SSH2. This SSH Secure Shell has been designed as an apt substitute for Telnet as well as other remote shells that are insecure that send information in plain text, notably password there by making them highly susceptible for packet analysis. SSH Secure Shell encryption will provide the necessary integrity of data and confidentiality too over unsecured networks like the internet.
