We know that embarking on a new project can be daunting. Here are some questions we frequently get asked at The Web Kitchen.
Founded as a web design and development company, creating wow-factor websites that work is still at the core of our business. However we now do lots of brand, narrative and visual identity work for clients ahead of starting on their website.
We also work in close partnership with our clients’ marketing teams after the launch of their site, so provide a range of services including hosting, SEO, conversion rate optimisation, e-newsletter design and consultancy, social media consultancy, print design services and more.
Our headquarters is in central London, between Chancery Lane and Farringdon. We have satellite offices in Brighton, New York and Newquay. We have many international clients, including in North America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia so we are very used to working with different timezones.
Yes! A new website is a great time to reassess and evolve your brand narrative and visual identity, and we help our clients distil down what makes them unique and the best ways to express it.
Since our foundation in 2006 we have worked across a whole range of varied sectors. We have done a lot of work in the education sector, in particular with independent schools but also with universities and colleges. The ultra-luxury property sector has become a speciality and we have therefore worked in adjacent sectors that target ultra-high-net-worth individuals. We have also worked with a number of charities, financial institutions, international corporations, SMEs and media agencies.
Each of our projects are scoped and costed individually depending on their specific needs and requirements. Our smallest projects generally require c.6 weeks and cost around £36,000 based on our day rate of £1,200.
Our process will be bespoke to your project and typically includes 6 stages: Research & User Profiling, Website Design & Site Architecture, Theme Development & Site Setup, Content Management & Training, Usability Testing & Tweaking, and Compatibility Testing & Launch.
Since all our projects vary depending on the brief, the timeline varies dramatically. A small site may take 3 months from start to finish, while a large project might take up to a year.
Custom web design allows your website to reflect your unique brand identity in its entirety, including content, tone, personality, and structure. Templates, while easy to set up, often require significant maintenance and can feel limiting.
We do not limit clients to a specific number of reviews or feedback rounds. We move to the next stage only once you’re happy to sign off on the full set of designs produced.

We use a robust stack of libraries including GSAP, TWK loading animations, SwiperJS, MagnificPopup, and ThreeJS.

Yes! We offer hosting services through partnerships with a number of specialist third-party hosting companies. We also provide a Disaster Recovery Plan as an additional safeguard so that we aren’t reliant on the one hosting company.
We implement strict security measures both on the CMS and server side, including regular updates, HTTPS, recaptcha, and more.
Yes! We have a number of options available under our Ongoing Partnership Plans, from simply maintaining the website to offering our team as an extension of your own marketing team so that you can make the most of the diverse range of skills and experience we have at The Web Kitchen.
Each project has a dedicated team including experts in strategy, design, development, and project management.
We are experts in Enterprise WordPress CMS but are constantly looking at alternatives to reassess whether WordPress is the best solution for our clients. We have experience of a number of other platforms, but for most projects so far we have concluded that WordPress is the best option to go for.
We create a master timeline at the start, outlining key milestones. If delays occur, we ensure transparent communication and accountability.
Our approach, experience, and expertise set us apart.
We have a rigorous approach to research, pushing ourselves to always ask the extra question. Our belief in the power of creative ideas motivates us to produce unique, tailored and impactful work – underpinned by industry-leading skills and knowledge. And lastly – we never settle. We embrace the mindset of continuous improvement through data-driven optimisation and insights, developing long term, happy relationships with our clients.
Yes! Everyone benefits if The Web Kitchen is a friendly, conscientious and fun business to work for, and to work with.
Beyond our work, we’re motivated by the impact we can make for the world and for others. We have planted over 70,000 trees through Ecologi, donated over 860,000 meals through our partnership with Mary’s Meals, and we are happy to be able to offer 50% discounted rates to charities and institutions which make a positive difference on society.
